A common scene along the settled areas of the New England coast is collections of buoys hung along fence lines, docksides, boathouse walls, and so on. Some oscillate environments, from resting at land to working at sea, while others serve simply as decoration on shorefront properties. Either way, buoy assortments are as "New England" as stone walls and lighthouses.
