Bodie Island Light Through Pines, Outer Banks, N.C. (WR302)

The Bodie Island Lighthouse has had tough existence. The first one almost collapsed, as half of the tower decided to sink into the ground. The second tower was blown up by Confederate troops during the U.S. Civil War. The third tower was hit by a flock of geese in 1872, breaking most of the glass. Luckily the 20th Century treated this lighthouse better.
