I stayed overnight in Trinidad, California, while on a photo shoot of the Pacific Coast Highway. I rose early to photograph the local lighthouse in sunrise light, but ended up being distracted by all the other great coastal scenery, including this high pier next to the cliffs of Trinidad Head. The promontory creates a natural harbor that turns the waves of the open Pacific Ocean into the calm waters of Trinidad Bay.
