Pigeon Point Lighthouse, a short drive south of San Francisco, has an outlay of buildings that serve as — of all things — a hostel. But it's not decommissioned. Pigeon Point Light still stands as a Coast Guard-run, 115-foot tall beacon of safety for Pacific Coast mariners.
