This was a difficult sunset to photograph. The day had been crisp and clear, and there was almost no humidity. The result was that when shooting the sunset at Badlands National Park, the sun was so strong that the light would blow out the film. Not until the sun dipped below this dune was I able to make a photo with the amount of color saturation I wanted.
