I was walking in a marina and found myself standing in the moving shadow of a flapping American flag sitting atop a high poll on a building in Newport, Rhode Island. To make the photograph was kind of a guessing game, to balance the hot sun with the cool sky (which was actually blue). To get this effect, I exposed 100 speed film at 1/8000 of a second.
