Marshall Point Light, in its younger days, could have been a fascination of both lighthouse and covered-bridge aficionados — the raised walkway from the keeper's house to the beacon used to have walls and a roof, looking like a tiny covered bridge spanning the rocks at the southern entrance to Port Clyde Harbor in Penobscot Bay.
