Prospect Harbor Point Light has a special place in my memory, because of my father. Dad was a career Navy man, serving 32 years in active duty and the reserves, retiring in 1999. In the last decade of his life, he liked traveling to Maine now and then, and on one solo trip he stopped at Prospect Harbor Point Light to look around. The lighthouse is on Navy property, and upon learning that Dad was a retired Master Chief, the guard invited him onto the grounds for a personal tour. Nothing notable happened hence, but telling the story made Dad happy — and that's why I like the story, too.
