Marco Island, Florida, has been, for the day, a seaside retreat for thousands of swimmers and sunbathers. They swam in the perfect temperatures of the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and they laid on the fine sand of the island's four miles of white beaches. Then the beach chairs were stacked to await a new day, and a few harmless clouds collected on the horizon, and the sun settled behind them, on its way to drawing evening over the Florida coast.
