West Quoddy Head Light in Lubec, Maine, sits at the very edge of the United States. Literally. The point is the easternmost spot of the country, the first spit of sea-level land to see the sun every day. It warns mariners of the adjacent rocky shoreline, standing nearly alone in the surrounding grasslands and bogs along the Quoddy Narrows strait and Johnson Bay.
