This photo is about the illusion of seclusion. The seaside scene is from Southern California’s west coast, where centuries of waves have eroded the cliffs. Today the waves still come, flowing in and out of this tiny cove. The remote feeling, however, is only because of the angle of view – a 180-degree turn and a glance 20 feet above would reveal the edge of downtown La Jolla, California. The water washes in not to some far-flung quiet getaway, but rather to the edge of La Jolla Bay.
