Cape Leeuwin Lightstation, the tallest lighthouse in Australia, stands in the southwest corner of the island continent, serving as sentinel over the point of juncture of two oceans, the Southern and Indian. The tower stands 183 feet above sea level, high enough to shine its beam 26 nautical miles over the water.
