Here in North America, we hear about Australian bush fires in the news now and then. But in Australia, you're constantly aware of the threat. Signs alerting you to the possibility of bush fires (such as this one in New South Wales) are as prevalent as signs for tsunamis in California, for bears in the Smoky Mountains, and for avalanches in Colorado. The signs hit me as so much a part of the Australian experience, that I wanted to make a photo portraying that.
