Kata Tjuta (the Aboriginal name) or The Olgas (the European-settler name) is a group of 36 huge, domed rock formations in central Australia, seen just on the horizon if you turn and look west from Uluru. The largest, Mount Olga, stands almost 1,800 feet above the Outback floor. Up close, Kata Tjuta is a surreal maze of cliffs and crevices; from a distance, it's a fascinating horizonal landscape.
