I've made several trips to photograph seals on the United States' west coast. I love seals' personalities, though admittedly it's because we tend to anthropomorphize them. I do like that seals, such as this female at California's Ano Nuevo State Preserve, live in cooperative colonies, even snuggling together to take naps.
