My brother and I spent an overnight in the middle of a farm field in the northwest corner of Connecticut, attempting to photograph the Leonid meteor shower. Toward the end of our shoot we moved to the far side of the field, bringing this ridge at the edge of Wyantenock State Forest into view. The warm light of very distant towns rimmed the horizon, while Orion and the other stars of a new-moon night shined bright.
