I know a spot in the Berkshires region of Massachusetts where a pond rests aside a high ridge covered with trees. From the edge of this pond I used a long telephoto lens to photograph the fall color. For this particular photo I tried to mix as many different species of tree as I could - pines, maples, birches, and so on - to create a potpourri of shapes and color in the mountainside.
