Ice Storm, Dunes Grass and Charles Island (071216.078)

Charles Island is part of Connecticut's Silver Sands State Park, which is pretty close to where I live. In fact, if I'm looking for natural-state public lands to photograph along the shore, this is among the closest of my options. Yet I hardly ever shoot there. For some reason, though, during an ice storm in the winter of 2007, I thought this wind-swept point of land on Long Island Sound would be a nice place to work. The weather was miserable, but I loved the way the ice was bending the shore grass, and the way the wind was kicking up the normally calm waters of the Sound.
